MEDIA ARTS
Because our students have shown such a large interest in the arts/media arena, Focus has been able to provide an outlet for their interests and talents! From novice to young professional, hip hop to alternative, Focus students now have a space to grow their musical talents. Our Multimedia Director, Mr. Wayne Woods, has remarkable experience working with youth and helping them to explore and develop their skill set.
With the assistance of the Focus Media Arts Department our students are able to gain experience with hands-on projects that focuses on audio and video production, photography, and computer technology.

This course introduces students to the steps necessary to analyze a problem in information technology and identify and define the computing requirements appropriate to its solution, with a focus on how to design, implement, and evaluate a computer-based system, process, component, or program to meet desired needs. Students learn to analyze the local and global impact of computing on individuals, organizations, and society.
This course leads students to recognize the need for continuing professional development and imparts an understanding of professional, ethical, legal, security and social issues, and responsibilities in information technology. Students write and present, building their ability to communicate effectively with a range of audiences, and work in teams learning to function effectively together to accomplish a common goal.
Review, analyze and practice verbal and written communication formats found in the workplace. Emphasis on developing skills in technical writing and oral presentations using electronic and traditional media. IT (information technology) is a term that encompasses all forms of technology used to create, store, exchange, and use information in its various forms (business data, voice conversations, still images, motion pictures, multimedia presentations, and other forms, including those not yet conceived).
